What is a Painting Lounge Class like?
In a relaxed, social setting, an experienced artist will guide the class step-by-step through replicating the nights featured painting. It's easy, fun, and totally stress free. Many people find our classes therapeutic and convenient way to tap back into their creative side. These classes are perfect for beginners, so grab your friends, coworkers, plan a unique date night, or fly solo and meet some creative people. It's also a great way to decorate your apartment because you are sure to go home with a painting you can be proud of. Also, our classes are great for all kinds of events, parties and team building workshops.

How do I sign up for a class?
Click here for our calendar and choose the date and/or painting that interests you. Simply click on the image of the painting and on the next page click "Add To Cart." On the shopping cart page you can update the quantity of seats you'd like to reserve and apply a gift code or voucher if you have one. The painting that is listed for each class is the painting that will be instructed. All materials are included: canvases, paint, brushes, aprons and easels, etc. We ask that students please arrive 15 minutes early to give yourself enough time to sign in and get settled. We also provide cups and bottle openers.

How do I cancel a class?
Please sign into your Painting Lounge account, and once logged in, click on "classes" from the menu on the upper left hand side. Then click "change" for the class you would like to cancel. Check off the box next to the name/s you would like to cancel and hit "cancel this class". Your Painting Lounge account will be credited for the amount you paid with a credit card, gift certificate or voucher, and will be available to use toward any future class you decide to register for.

WE HAVE A 24 HOUR CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULE POLICY:
If you need to cancel or reschedule a reservation, you must do so a minimum of one day before the event.

How do I book a new class with my Painting Lounge account credit?
When you are ready to book a new reservation, make sure you log into your Painting Lounge account. Choose a new class and add it to your shopping cart. Then, on the shopping cart page, click "Use Account Credit" before checkout. If you would like a refund to your credit card, please contact us within 60 days from the transaction date and we will gladly credit your card the full amount. After 60 days no refunds will be issued. If you used an American Express card to pay for your reservation and you request a refund, a 3.5% processing fee will be applied. This is because AmEx doesn't refund merchants the processing fee.

How does the waiting list work?
If a class is full you will see the "Join Waiting List" option. Click on this to add the class to your shopping cart and check out. You won't be charged anything and you will now be on the waiting list. If a seat becomes available, you will be notified via email and have the option to register at that time. Being on a waiting list doesn't automatically register you for a class, it just emails you if and when a seat opens up. Everyone on the waiting list gets the same notification at the same time, and has the same opportunity to register for the class. So you need to act fast to secure the open seat.

How do I use a voucher, gift certificate or coupon code?
To use your "daily deal" voucher, gift certificate or promotional coupon, simply enter the code on the shopping cart page where it says "Gift Certificates & Coupons." If the class you choose cost more than the voucher or gift certificate, you can simply pay the difference with your credit card on the "Checkout" page. For instance, if you have a voucher or gift certificate worth $50, and you want to take a class that cost $65, you simply pay the remaining $15 balance at checkout.

What if I’m not artistic?
These classes are designed for beginners, yet there is plenty to challenge students of all skill levels. The first step is to trace the image using a stencil, this way we can start painting right away. Then our instructors will cover basic techniques and guide you step-by-step through every aspect of the painting. At Painting Lounge, we pride ourselves on our hands on teaching approach. Instructors will walk around the class to answer questions and to make sure everyone is on the right track. It's good to remember that with art there are no “right” or “wrong” answers. Also, any "mistake" can be fixed or simply reinterpreted as intentional strokes of genius.

Is Painting Lounge BYOB (bring your own wine, beer or booze)?
Yes, we have a liquor license for all three of our studio locations. You can B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Beer or Bottle of wine/champagne) to all three of our studios, but no hard alcohol. We also provide cups, bottle openers, corkscrews and a refrigerator at all the studios.

Do I need to sign up in advance?
It is strongly recommend to sign up in advance because of our limited seating. Also, it takes several minutes to prepare a spot for an unexpected student and this can cause the class to be delayed. Of course walk-ins are still welcomed if there are seats available.

What should I wear?
We will provide aprons, but we recommend wearing something you wouldn't mind getting paint on just in case! We use acrylic paint and it can stain clothes.

What time do I need to arrive for a class?
The class start time is listed on the calendar, however we suggest arriving early to signed in, get settled and choose your seat. Our doors open 20 minutes before the listed start time. Classes start on time, and late arrivals are responsible to catch themselves up.

Are there age requirements?
Our classes are designed for everyone 18 and up, and 8 and up when accompanied by an adult. Of course you have to be 21+ to drink alcohol at the studios. Valid ID required. We can host kids parties for ages 10 and up.

Can I paint something other than what everyone else is painting?
We recommend you paint the same painting as everyone else, however we encourage you to be as original as you like. Feel free to use different colors, different composition, and different design elements, whatever you want to do to express your own originality. That being said, if you were to paint something completely different, you may regret missing out on the provided instruction and the camaraderie of the group.

Do you have a minimum number of people required to hold a class?
We will teach a class as long as eight people are signed up. In the event that not enough people have signed up for a class, we will contact those signed up the day before the class to let them know about the cancellation. One way to be sure your class won't be canceled is to get a few friends to sign up with you!

Is the paint safe for children or pregnant women?
Yes, we use AP certified non-toxic paint.  A product can be certified non-toxic only if it contains no materials in sufficient quantities to be toxic or injurious to humans, or to cause acute or chronic health problems. AP certification is reviewed by ACMI's Toxicological Advisory Board. These products are certified by ACMI to be labeled in accordance with the chronic hazard labeling standard, ASTM D-4236 and federal law P.L. 100-695.
