Total Body Strength Workout for Seniors

Strength training has incredible benefits for everyone, and especially for seniors. This total body workout is a great way for older adults to get started with strength training. Experts believe the resistance exercises may forestall declines in strength and muscle mass for decades. Having a strong body helps you avoid injuries, falls, pain and other issues associated with getting older. The exercises taught in this class will focus on building total body strength with an emphasis on improving balance, stability, and flexibility. We will use dumbbells, exercise balls, resistance bands, tubing, exercise rings, and chairs for balance and support. All exercises can be done seated or standing. Each class consists of a warm up, strength work, balance and flexibility work and will end with relaxing stretch and cool down. No matter how old you are, exercise can improve your quality of life and you don’t have to spend a lot of time doing it to see and feel improvements.
