  Looking for a unique and fun way to spend an evening with your partner? Join us for our Date Night Pottery Class! This handbuilding class is perfect for couples who want to create something special together. Whether you're crafting heart bowls, animal figurines, small vases, salt and pepper shakers, tiles, or anything else you can imagine, our talented instructor is here to help bring your ideas to life. Just bring a picture of what you want to make, and we'll guide you through the process. Each person gets two pounds of clay to work with, and if you need more, additional clay can be purchased at $5 per pound. This class is ideal for those who aren't quite ready for wheel throwing but still want to experience the joy of working with clay in a therapeutic and low-key environment. Come and enjoy a creative evening with your loved one, and take home a beautiful piece of art that you made together.

Get ready to dive into the wildly enjoyable world of wheel-throwing pottery!

This session is perfect for beginners itching to unleash their inner artist. You'll learn the nitty-gritty of clay preparation, centering it on the wheel, tool preparation and the basics of making a small bowl!  No experience? No problem! Everyone's invited to join the pottery party!

This class includes all the tools and instruction needed to make a small bowl. It does not include a glazed and fired piece. This class is meant to teach you a new skill and provides instruction and the tools to do as such. By the end of the session you MIGHT have a piece that is considered Greenware. Which means you cannot eat out of this piece and it will be fragile. You can take pieces home the same day if you make one and it can be a small decorative piece for memories sake. In order to make your pieces food-safe and durable, you can register for a second session, called "Paint Your Own Pottery". In this class you will learn about the kiln process, glazes, and how to customize the color and design of your pieces. The "Paint Your Own Pottery" session can be scheduled anytime after 3 days of this class. 

This class does not guarantee you will leave with a piece. We will make every effort to ensure that you leave with a piece, but it is not guaranteed. Otherwise, we do have public wash bins and individual sinks with soap and water after using the public wash to remove the clay from your hands. Most people do not have an issue with this. The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick u

Lastly, we do not have coat racks. Everything you bring will have to either be hung on the back of your seat or place under your chair we will not provide tables for storage.

90-Minute Introductory Workshop |

Unleash your creativity through the luminous art of glass fusing. In this beginner-friendly 1.5-hour class, you'll design and create a simple yet stunning square glass container using a variety of glass materials and layering techniques.

You’ll work with:

• Fusible sheet glass – the base for your project, available in multiple colors

• Glass frit – crushed glass in different grain sizes for texture and shading

• Stringers and rods – thin, colorful glass strands for detailed linework

• Dichroic glass – shimmering, reflective pieces that add sparkle and depth

  Celebrate St. Patrick’s season with clay and a little luck. 🍀

   

  In this fun beginner pottery workshop, you’ll create two handmade ceramic pieces inspired by lucky charms and pots of gold.

   

  During this 1.5-hour class, you’ll learn simple handbuilding techniques to:

   

  ✨ Pinch your own Pot of Gold mini pot (perfect for candy, jewelry, or a tiny plant)

  ✨ Create a Lucky Charm Coaster shaped like a gold coin, shamrock, or your own lucky symbol

🪄 About the Class

• Public group class: This is not a private session. Seating together is not guaranteed, especially if arriving late. For one-on-one instruction, ask about private lessons.
• Messy fun! Wheel-throwing can be messy. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, or bring an overshirt. Cloth aprons are provided; disposable aprons are available for $1 (Cash, Zelle, or CashApp accepted).

90-Minute Introductory Workshop |

Unleash your creativity through the luminous art of glass fusing. In this beginner-friendly 1.5-hour class, you'll design and create a simple yet stunning square glass container using a variety of glass materials and layering techniques.

The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick up

This session is perfect for beginners itching to unleash their inner artist. You'll learn the nitty-gritty of clay preparation, centering it on the wheel, tool preparation and the basics of making a small bowl!  No experience? No problem! Everyone's invited to join the pottery party!

This class includes all the tools and instruction needed to make a small bowl. It does not include a glazed and fired piece. This class is meant to teach you a new skill and provides instruction and the tools to do as such. By the end of the session you MIGHT have a piece that is considered Greenware. Which means you cannot eat out of this piece and it will be fragile. You can take pieces home the same day if you make one and it can be a small decorative piece for memories sake. When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. Look into a private lesson class. If you do not feel comfortable being in a space with a lot of people, please feel free to message me and I will move your class to a different time or date for you. Please check out our Instagram for pictures of what this experience will look like. We are very open and honest about the amount of people we allow in our studio on a weekend. Please let me know if you have any further questions

1. Our Wheel Throwing classes are very messy. Especially for newcomers. We highly suggest wearing clothes that you can get dirty. Or bring an oversize shirt to wear over the clothes you are currently wearing. We do provide cloth aprons as well as plastic disposable aprons, which are on sale for 1$ at check-in. We accept cash app, Zelle or cash.

2. If you would like to have your own bucket to wash your hands of clay. Please feel free to bring a small plastic container. Otherwise, we do have public wash bins and individual sinks with soap and water after using the public wash to remove the clay from your hands. Most people do not have an issue with this. However, please feel free to bring your own bucket if you do.

3. Apparently, Google maps has been leading people to the old location. Our new studio is right next to Bobijoa Korean Kitchen. And across the street from Chicago Tattoo.

Please leave with enough time to find parking. parking in Chicago can be very difficult.

We do not provide parking. 

Parking is all paid street parking and can be limited. We highly suggest using public transportation, Being prepared to park and walk a couple blocks, Or use an Uber. Our classes start 10 minutes after the prepared time. And we will not take walk-ins that are late 30 minutes or more. There is a rescheduled fee of $15 per ticket if you are late and if you would like to transfer to a different class at another time. Thank you for your understanding. We want to ensure that everyone gets the amount of class time that they are paying for and taking walk-ins after 30 minutes is not productive for anyone.

The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick up

Each class is two hours. If your class starts at 5:30, please be off of the wheel or the table by 7:30. As we have another class that takes place at that time. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. We truly hope you enjoy your class at color cocktail factory.

You’ll work with:

We’re excited to welcome you to our studio! Please review the following information carefully before your visit:

📍 Location & Parking

• Address: 1142 W 18th St, Chicago (next to Bobijoa Korean Kitchen, across from Chicago Tattoo).
• Parking: Street parking only (paid and limited). We recommend public transit, Uber/Lyft, or arriving early to allow time to park and walk a couple blocks.

🕒 Class Times

• Classes begin promptly 10 minutes after the scheduled time.
• Late arrivals: 30+ minutes late will not be admitted. A $15 reschedule fee per ticket applies if you need to transfer.
• Please respect the end time — staying past your session may result in a $50 per person, per hour late fee.

🪄 About the Class

• Public group class: This is not a private session. Seating together is not guaranteed, especially if arriving late. For one-on-one instruction, ask about private lessons.
• Messy fun! Wheel-throwing can be messy. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, or bring an overshirt. Cloth aprons are provided; disposable aprons are available for $1 (Cash, Zelle, or CashApp accepted).
• Hand-washing stations are provided. You may bring your own small container if you prefer a personal rinse bucket.

🏺 Taking Pieces Home

• We will make every effort to help you leave with a piece, but it is not guaranteed.
• Guests are asked to take pieces home the same day. We’ll provide a paper plate and/or bag if available, but feel free to bring your own box.

2. If you would like to have your own bucket to wash your hands of clay. Please feel free to bring a small plastic container. Otherwise, we do have public wash bins and individual sinks with soap and water after using the public wash to remove the clay from your hands. Most people do not have an issue with this. The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick u

Lastly, we do not have coat racks. Everything you bring will have to either be hung on the back of your seat or place under your chair we will not provide tables for storage.

90-Minute Introductory Workshop |

Unleash your creativity through the luminous art of glass fusing. In this beginner-friendly 1.5-hour class, you'll design and create a simple yet stunning square glass container using a variety of glass materials and layering techniques.

You’ll work with:

This session is perfect for beginners itching to unleash their inner artist. You'll learn the nitty-gritty of clay preparation, centering it on the wheel, tool preparation and the basics of making a small bowl!  No experience? No problem! Everyone's invited to join the pottery party!

This class includes all the tools and instruction needed to make a small bowl. It does not include a glazed and fired piece. This class is meant to teach you a new skill and provides instruction and the tools to do as such. By the end of the session you MIGHT have a piece that is considered Greenware. Which means you cannot eat out of this piece and it will be fragile. You can take pieces home the same day if you make one and it can be a small decorative piece for memories sake. In order to make your pieces food-safe and durable, you can register for a second session, called "Paint Your Own Pottery". In this class you will learn about the kiln process, glazes, and how to customize the color and design of your pieces. The "Paint Your Own Pottery" session can be scheduled anytime after 3 days of this class.

Join us for a hilarious and hands-on clay sculpting session where you'll create your very own custom ceramic dildo art piece (yes, you read that right!). No art experience? No problem—we provide all the tools, supplies, guidance, and giggles you need.

  Please remember if you are attending a Friday, Saturday or Sunday class.  Our Friday and weekend classes can get very full. Especially if the class is a very low price. We at color cocktail factory believe that art should be available for everyone. And pride ourselves on being the most affordable option in Chicago. On weekends, our classes can be very full.   Look into a private lesson class. If you do not feel comfortable being in a space with a lot of people, please feel free to message me and I will move your class to a different time or date for you. Please check out our Instagram for pictures of what this experience will look like. We are very open and honest about the amount of people we allow in our studio on a weekend. If you would prefer, please feel free to bring your  own box to take your pieces home. We do have options for Bisque Fire, which is five dollars apiece. Or we can glaze your piece for $10 each.

Otherwise, we do have public wash bins and individual sinks with soap and water after using the public wash to remove the clay from your hands. Most people do not have an issue with this.   3. Apparently, Google maps has been leading people to the old location. Our new studio is right next to Bobijoa Korean Kitchen. And across the street from Chicago Tattoo.

90-Minute Introductory Workshop |

Unleash your creativity through the luminous art of glass fusing. In this beginner-friendly 1.5-hour class, you'll design and create a simple yet stunning square glass container using a variety of glass materials and layering techniques.

You’ll work with:

• Fusible sheet glass – the base for your project, available in multiple colors

• Glass frit – crushed glass in different grain sizes for texture and shading

• Stringers and rods – thin, colorful glass strands for detailed linework

• Dichroic glass – shimmering, reflective pieces that add sparkle and depth

• Glass powders – for soft gradients and painterly effects

Under the guidance of our instructor, you’ll cut, layer, and arrange your design before it’s kiln-fired to fuse into a solid form. No experience is necessary, and all tools and materials are included.

Welcome to Cup Creations: Wheel Throwing for Beginners! This exciting and hands-on class is designed for those who are new to pottery and eager to learn the basics of wheel throwing. In this course, you'll master the essential techniques for creating a basic cylinder, which is the foundation for making beautiful cups and mugs. Our skilled instructors will guide you through each step, from centering your clay to shaping and perfecting your cylinder. By the end of the class, you'll have the skills and confidence to start crafting your own unique pottery pieces. Join us and start your journey into the world of pottery! This class is to make a small greenware cylinder/ cup. It will not be food safe. Glaze and firing is not included. This class is meant to teach a new skill. Thank you.

The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick u

Lastly, we do not have coat racks. Everything you bring will have to either be hung on the back of your seat or place under your chair we will not provide tables for storage.

  Glazing isn’t just about looks—it transforms your pottery into a glossy, durable, microwave-safe, oven-safe, and fully food-safe piece of art! Once you’re done painting, we’ll fire your piece at a blazing 2,000°F to lock in your design permanently.

   

  📅 Pick-Up Policy
  Your finished masterpiece will be ready for pick-up three weeks after your class. We’ll hold your piece for 60 days—after that, any unclaimed works may be recycled or donated to make room for new creations.
