This handbuilding class is perfect for couples who want to create something special together. Whether you're crafting heart bowls, animal figurines, small vases, salt and pepper shakers, tiles, or anything else you can imagine, our talented instructor is here to help bring your ideas to life. Just bring a picture of what you want to make, and we'll guide you through the process. Each person gets two pounds of clay to work with, and if you need more, additional clay can be purchased at $5 per pound. This class is ideal for those who aren't quite ready for wheel throwing but still want to experience the joy of working with clay in a therapeutic and low-key environment. Come and enjoy a creative evening with your loved one, and take home a beautiful piece of art that you made together.

The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick up

Each class is either 90 mins or two hours. Depending on the class schedule. If you refuse to leave within the given time your class is to end we hold every right to charge your account the studio fee of 50$ an hour per person. Please keep in mind there are other classes that occur after yours and other people that want to experience their classes as well. Thank you 

Lastly, we do not have coat racks. Everything you bring will have to either be hung on the back of your seat or place under your chair we will not provide tables for storage.

1. Our Wheel Throwing classes are very messy. Especially for newcomers. We highly suggest wearing clothes that you can get dirty. Or bring an oversize shirt to wear over the clothes you are currently wearing. We do provide cloth aprons as well as plastic disposable aprons, which are on sale for 1$ at check-in. Get ready to dive into the wildly enjoyable world of wheel-throwing pottery!

This session is perfect for beginners itching to unleash their inner artist. You'll learn the nitty-gritty of clay preparation, centering it on the wheel, tool preparation and the basics of making a small bowl!  No experience? No problem! Everyone's invited to join the pottery party!

This class includes all the tools and instruction needed to make a small bowl. It does not include a glazed and fired piece. This class is meant to teach you a new skill and provides instruction and the tools to do as such. By the end of the session you MIGHT have a piece that is considered Greenware. Which means you cannot eat out of this piece and it will be fragile. You can take pieces home the same day if you make one and it can be a small decorative piece for memories sake. In order to make your pieces food-safe and durable, you can register for a second session, called "Paint Your Own Pottery". In this class you will learn about the kiln process, glazes, and how to customize the color and design of your pieces. The "Paint Your Own Pottery" session can be scheduled anytime after 3 days of this class.

We at color cocktail factory believe that art should be available for everyone. And pride ourselves on being the most affordable option in Chicago. On weekends, our classes can be very full. We will attempt to help everyone as much as we can. However, it is not a private session class. THIS IS A PUBLIC CLASS.  If you would like one on one instruction please Look into a private lesson class. If you do not feel comfortable being in a space with a lot of people, please feel free to message me and I will move your class to a different time or date for you. Please check out our Instagram for pictures of what this experience will look like. We are very open and honest about the amount of people we allow in our studio on a weekend. Please let me know if you have any further questions

1. Our Wheel Throwing classes are very messy. Especially for newcomers. We highly suggest wearing clothes that you can get dirty. Or bring an oversize shirt to wear over the clothes you are currently wearing. We do provide cloth aprons as well as plastic disposable aprons, which are on sale for 1$ at check-in. We accept cash app, Zelle or cash.

2. If you would like to have your own bucket to wash your hands of clay. Please feel free to bring a small plastic container. Otherwise, we do have public wash bins and individual sinks with soap and water after using the public wash to remove the clay from your hands. Most people do not have an issue with this. However, please feel free to bring your own bucket if you do.

3. Apparently, Google maps has been leading people to the old location. Our new studio is right next to Bobijoa Korean Kitchen. And across the street from Chicago Tattoo.

• Public group class: This is not a private session. Seating together is not guaranteed, especially if arriving late. For one-on-one instruction, ask about private lessons.

The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick up

The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick up

An intimate, small-group ceramic experience led by a resident sculptor

This weekly workshop is designed for students who want to go deeper into sculptural ceramics and facial structure. Led by a resident artist specializing in maskmaking and figurative form, this class focuses on building a sculpted face from a foundational base and refining features with guided instruction.

Participants will work from a pre-formed face base to learn proper proportions, structure, and detailing techniques. The instructor will demonstrate how to sculpt eyes, noses, mouths, cheekbones, and expression, allowing each student to customize their piece into a unique sculptural portrait.

The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick up

This session is perfect for beginners itching to unleash their inner artist. You'll learn the nitty-gritty of clay preparation, centering it on the wheel, tool preparation and the basics of making a small bowl!  No experience? No problem! Everyone's invited to join the pottery party!

This class includes all the tools and instruction needed to make a small bowl. It does not include a glazed and fired piece. This class is meant to teach you a new skill and provides instruction and the tools to do as such. By the end of the session you MIGHT have a piece that is considered Greenware. Which means you cannot eat out of this piece and it will be fragile. You can take pieces home the same day if you make one and it can be a small decorative piece for memories sake. In order to make your pieces food-safe and durable, you can register for a second session, called "Paint Your Own Pottery". In this class you will learn about the kiln process, glazes, and how to customize the color and design of your pieces. The "Paint Your Own Pottery" session can be scheduled anytime after 3 days of this class.

In this class you will learn about the kiln process, glazes, and how to customize the color and design of your pieces. The "Paint Your Own Pottery" session can be scheduled anytime after 3 days of this class. 

This class does not guarantee you will leave with a piece. We will make every effort to ensure that you leave with a piece, but it is not guaranteed. All customers will be told to take their pieces home. We will send you home with a paper plate and a paper bag if available We do not provided boxes. 1. Our Wheel Throwing classes are very messy. Especially for newcomers. We highly suggest wearing clothes that you can get dirty. Or bring an oversize shirt to wear over the clothes you are currently wearing. We do provide cloth aprons as well as plastic disposable aprons, which are on sale for 1$ at check-in. We accept cash app, Zelle or cash.

2. If you would like to have your own bucket to wash your hands of clay. Please feel free to bring a small plastic container. Otherwise, we do have public wash bins and individual sinks with soap and water after using the public wash to remove the clay from your hands. Most people do not have an issue with this. However, please feel free to bring your own bucket if you do.

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick up

Each class is either 90 mins or two hours. Depending on the class schedule. Get ready to dive into the wildly enjoyable world of wheel-throwing pottery!

This session is perfect for beginners itching to unleash their inner artist. You'll learn the nitty-gritty of clay preparation, centering it on the wheel, tool preparation and the basics of making a small bowl!  No experience? No problem! Everyone's invited to join the pottery party!

This class includes all the tools and instruction needed to make a small bowl. It does not include a glazed and fired piece. This class is meant to teach you a new skill and provides instruction and the tools to do as such. By the end of the session you MIGHT have a piece that is considered Greenware. Which means you cannot eat out of this piece and it will be fragile. You can take pieces home the same day if you make one and it can be a small decorative piece for memories sake. In order to make your pieces food-safe and durable, you can register for a second session, called "Paint Your Own Pottery". 2. If you would like to have your own bucket to wash your hands of clay. Please feel free to bring a small plastic container. Otherwise, we do have public wash bins and individual sinks with soap and water after using the public wash to remove the clay from your hands. Most people do not have an issue with this. However, please feel free to bring your own bucket if you do.

3. Apparently, Google maps has been leading people to the old location. Our new studio is right next to Bobijoa Korean Kitchen. And across the street from Chicago Tattoo.

The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick up

  Ever wanted to combine our pottery sessions with our painting sessions in one day? Now you can! We are so excited to now offer this option to chose any one of our classes that occur at the time indicated , create your piece in the first two hours and then the last hour paint it as you wish! Save yourself a trip to come back and no more waiting days to paint your piece we will give you a heat gun to dry your piece so that it’s ready to paint the same day that you create it! The ultimate convenience package for anyone! With the purchase of this ticket you will be allowed access to any pottery class (except for vase making) and will have two hours to make your piece you will then be given 1.5 hours to dry and paint your piece. You will then leave the piece with us and pick it up after 3 weeks appointed hours! We will keep glazed pieces for 60 days! Unleash your creativity through the luminous art of glass fusing. In this beginner-friendly 1.5-hour class, you'll design and create a simple yet stunning square glass container using a variety of glass materials and layering techniques.

🕒 Class Times

• Classes begin promptly 10 minutes after the scheduled time.
• Late arrivals: 30+ minutes late will not be admitted. A $15 reschedule fee per ticket applies if you need to transfer.
• Please respect the end time — staying past your session may result in a $50 per person, per hour late fee.

🪄 About the Class

• Public group class: This is not a private session. Seating together is not guaranteed, especially if arriving late. For one-on-one instruction, ask about private lessons.
• Messy fun! Wheel-throwing can be messy. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, or bring an overshirt. Cloth aprons are provided; disposable aprons are available for $1 (Cash, Zelle, or CashApp accepted).

Get ready to dive into the wildly enjoyable world of wheel-throwing pottery!

This session is perfect for beginners itching to unleash their inner artist. You'll learn the nitty-gritty of clay preparation, centering it on the wheel, tool preparation and the basics of making a small bowl!  No experience? No problem! Everyone's invited to join the pottery party!

This class includes all the tools and instruction needed to make a small bowl. It does not include a glazed and fired piece. This class is meant to teach you a new skill and provides instruction and the tools to do as such. By the end of the session you MIGHT have a piece that is considered Greenware. Which means you cannot eat out of this piece and it will be fragile. You can take pieces home the same day if you make one and it can be a small decorative piece for memories sake. In order to make your pieces food-safe and durable, you can register for a second session, called "Paint Your Own Pottery". In this class you will learn about the kiln process, glazes, and how to customize the color and design of your pieces. The "Paint Your Own Pottery" session can be scheduled anytime after 3 days of this class.

The glazing process for ceramic classes 

When you make your piece you will be sent home with it. You can bring a small box for your creation or we will send you back with a small plate to carry your piece on. We do not guarantee boxes will be available. If you leave your piece with us we will paint your piece and fire it for you. It will be ready for pick up three weeks after you leave it with us. We will NOT call you to let you know when it’s done. It will be done after three weeks and you can stop by during studio hours for pick up

  Glazing isn’t just about looks—it transforms your pottery into a glossy, durable, microwave-safe, oven-safe, and fully food-safe piece of art! Once you’re done painting, we’ll fire your piece at a blazing 2,000°F to lock in your design permanently.

   

  📅 Pick-Up Policy
  Your finished masterpiece will be ready for pick-up three weeks after your class. We’ll hold your piece for 60 days—after that, any unclaimed works may be recycled or donated to make room for new creations.

We highly suggest using public transportation, Being prepared to park and walk a couple blocks, Or use an Uber. Our classes start 10 minutes after the prepared time. And we will not take walk-ins that are late 30 minutes or more. There is a reschedule fee of $15 per ticket if you are late and if you would like to transfer to a different class at another time. • Please respect the end time — staying past your session may result in a $50 per person, per hour late fee.

🪄 About the Class

• Public group class: This is not a private session. Seating together is not guaranteed, especially if arriving late. For one-on-one instruction, ask about private lessons.
• Messy fun! Wheel-throwing can be messy. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, or bring an overshirt. Cloth aprons are provided; disposable aprons are available for $1 (Cash, Zelle, or CashApp accepted).
• Hand-washing stations are provided. You may bring your own small container if you prefer a personal rinse bucket.

🏺 Taking Pieces Home

• We will make every effort to help you leave with a piece, but it is not guaranteed.
• Guests are asked to take pieces home the same day. We’ll provide a paper plate and/or bag if available, but feel free to bring your own box.

We are so excited to now offer this option to chose any one of our classes that occur at the time indicated , create your piece in the first two hours and then the last hour paint it as you wish! Save yourself a trip to come back and no more waiting days to paint your piece we will give you a heat gun to dry your piece so that it’s ready to paint the same day that you create it! The ultimate convenience package for anyone! With the purchase of this ticket you will be allowed access to any pottery class (except for vase making) and will have two hours to make your piece you will then be given 1.5 hours to dry and paint your piece. You will then leave the piece with us and pick it up after 3 weeks appointed hours! We will keep glazed pieces for 60 days! A fun option for those looking for a longer experience or even just a more convenient one!
